I'm reading "Maneaters" by Jim Corbett, the famous hunter in India in the 20's and 30's.He tells how he used to hunt as a kid with an old muzzleloader that had part of it's barrel wrappped with brass wire to repair a crack in the barrel.
Now why didn't we think of that? All this time we have been buying a new barrel when this happened when all we had to do is make a simple repair.
