Here' my latest construction. And yes, I did figure out how to forge weld the thing together, I cheated. The funny thing is, I had so many problems welding it, I'm likely to use rivets next time. It's made it from 1mm sheet metal, the design is simple, and light. I made the original one from card stock, taped it all together and then transferred the design to the metal. The cool thing is, one can alter a propane stove and shove it in there with the bottle hanging out one side for fire restriction days.

Nice job.

Yup. Round off those corners on the pads, and the bottom pan and feet. You will be surprised at how many things those sharp corners can ... nick!

ANd that "grill" top part looks soooooo simple, yet is real tricky to get to work/fit right! You will often spend more time tinkering with it than on all the rest of it.

Fire it up and see how well it draws/drafts. You might need to drill some extra air holes in the sides down near the bottoms of the sides. Only using it will show you if it is needed.

Nice tinkering project.

You getting ... CABIN FEVER ... way out there?

The grill was really easy. I drilled the holes one drill bit smaller and I used the grinding wheel to taper the rods on both ends. They snapped right into place and stayed there.
