Anyone know of a decent kit or reproduction that works well?

Here is what I am looking to acquire:
British Cav Pistol

I am wondering just how functional the ramrod is with the under barrel rod-guide that swings into place.

62cal is also a bit of an odd duck. Was that a popular caliber back then?

Let's answer your queries in order -

1. I don't know of any kit for a DRAGOON or LANCER'S pistol, as they were called by the users.

2. The captive ramrod works VERY well. After all, it prevented the rider from losing it whilst reloading on horseback. It was also in use for over 120 years in that format - even percussion.

3. You might not be familiar with .62cal, but that was the British military handgun calibre of the day - in fact, it was in use from the very beginning of this style of pistol to the end of percussion in the 1850's.

That picture, BTW, is a very fine example of what we call a Lancer's or Dragooner's horse pistol.
