my 1840 nco sword, has a leather scabard whith a sheet brass throte and brass drag,
the top, or throte, has a L shaped hook soldered on to it to engage the leather holderupper thingy,
(cival war is just belt thingy, mex war is a shoulder strap thingy)
anyway the L shaped hook broke off the sheet brass, wich is
wraped around the leather, :cry:
any ideas on how to reattach the hook, whithout cooking
the leather underneath? ::
:hmm:
more balldricks capn bragg

tried a couple epoxeys, goober weld ect.
but the pressure of gettin it in and out of the leather,
breaks it off again, I suspect the origanal had the same
problem.
I thot of a mechanical means, like a rivit or bolt,
but gettin in side the scaberd side is a tight fit to say the least.

Have you considered regular JB Weld? IMHO it is the ultimate when it comes to epoxy holding power.

yep goober weld was the first on the list,
but youv only 1/4" of surface area to work with.
