Anybody know where a guy could get a new ramrod for a L.Day swivel breech.

You could build your own.

There are a number of places which sell ramrod blanks or ramrods with the tip installed. All you need to do is stain it and apply a finish.

As I said, there are lots of places you could look. You might start with Muzzleloaders Builders Supply in this link:

MLB

Another supplier which has excellent Hickory ramrods is Log Cabin in Lodi Ohio. Look in our forums link section by clicking this link:

One thing in my opinion you do not want to do though. That is to buy one of the wooden dowels which is sold at the local hardware store or home improvement center.
These are made out of a type of hardwood which is known for breaking or splintering when used as a ramrod.
The good ramrods sold by the Muzzleloading Suppliers are made out of Hickory which is not only traditional, but is difficult to break.

If it is hickory you can make one or buy a new one from any of the suppliers such as Track Of The Wolf, Dixie, etc. If you want a brass one try October Country or RMC Sports

Elker, You can also contact L. Day at; LEONARD DAY & SONS, INC., P.O. Box 1, 6 Linseed Road, West Hatfield, MA 01088. Maybe he'll make you a new ramrod. When you contact him, ask about recommended loadings too. You are loading your gun too high or heavily. Le Grand

Zonie, I agree with you on your comment about building your own ramrod, but I'd recommend getting them from somewhere besides Log Cabin. I got some from them a while back, and ALL of them were so cross-grained I was afraid to use them.
I ordered them with a bunch of other stuff and it was all first-class and shipped smokin' fast, so I'm not bashing Log Cabin. I've had nothing but first class service and stuff on every order I've placed with them, and I'm sure they would've exchanged the ramrods if I had asked, but I didn't ask.
I don't mean to sound picky, but I'm real picky on ramrods cause I don't want to pull a broken one out of my hand.
