I've only viewed 3 origanal buffalo powder horns from about the first quater of the 19th century.Thease were quite plain as to carveing.I would imagine that there were some more elaborately done.The picture of the buff horn that I posted,is pretty close to the origanals I saw.Look at the relief carved horn by A.Z.roberts,a really nice job and who can say it wouldn;t have been made that way 150+ years ago.
