..."Stumblin" he wernt.

Had the pleasure to meet Stumblin Buffler today at a nice show north of town. Impressive young feller with a do-it-maself way about him, as you would expect.

The "motley buckskinner mafia" that he kept company with was a bit troubling, though.  :D :D

Annawhoo, it was a good haven on a snowy day and managed to chat it up with the sutlers, do a bit of damage and stowe the goods upon return and the better half was n'er the wiser (this time)!!

Good to meetchya, Stumblin, and don't send them other guys after me.

Regards, sse

Ha, ha. No, even though I did suggest it would be easier to fInd him if he did! Turns out the place was small enough, could'a hollered out his name if I had to.

Regards, sse

I must of missed ya both, did ya see the rather handsome fellow in the Kilt??
Well, that wasn't me, I was the ugly cuss in the Kilt and Redcoat Regimental.
Sorry to not have met both of you fine gentlemen.

Pvt - That's OK, maybe another opportunity will come along. I was busy chatting with the sutlers. Also got to see a fella start a fire with the flint and steel, new for me. Wonder if its is easy a thing to do as he made it look.

sse,
Starting fire with steel & flint is great fun/comp at rendys; at my peak of "playing" I was quite good at it, however, never as good as my mentor; one strike with the flint on to the char cloth, then instantly pick up char and the other stuff (I've forgotten what it's called ::), a couple of blows & voila, instant fire! If I remember correctly, his times were around 7 seconds! :master:.

Jim.

That's about how quick this guy did it. Then get a candle on it fast and put the steel away!

Regards, sse

How could you possibly have missed me? Did you make any laps around that little bitty room? I was across the aisle from the Massachusetts Provincials, big guy, green shirt, long hair, little dead rat full of tabac around his neck.

You need to look harder, sport...

And speaking of easy to spot...geez, sse, you ought to tell folks that you're 8 feet tall! Not many people in this world that I have to look up to in a conversation!!

And Motely?? he he he .... you ain't seen us after a week in the wilds, buddy.

Good meeting you, and great meeting everyone who came up. It was a good show. I'm looking forward to Kalamazoo (we've got a table there all to ourselves)

Stumblerin
