Start taking the fore arm down ....check out your ramrod hole depth first , this one is high , darn close to barrel so I can go pretty far down on the forearm ....easier to I let entry pipe that way , look better too ..

Its slow and tedious ... Lots of inlet blacking at this point and stop taking front down . Just keep working the it to the rear ...so little black shows ...just keep on it ...very slow .

At some point the tail gets awfully close but still not touching ...and its going so slow because so little black shows up back there on those thin edges ...push down on the tail , slowly and watch to make sure it dont shift , watch centerline ...then trace the tail ...then you can chisel straight down following line .... Speed it up ever so slightly ...ugh...I wish I could be doing this with the barrel in for stability and so it won't crush the stock at this thin weak spot but alas ....no dice ....be d@mn careful with the stock in the vice . Too loose it moving all over the place as your trying to work , add to frustration , too tight ...crack the stock at ramrod channel ....ugh

Not just this part but on lots of parts I'll leave lines , arrows , Xs ....little notes , cautions , reminds , etc. to catch my attention or mark a spot ....these help . When I tap the pipe down I mark where the metal and wood meet . It heps to find the tiny tiny tell tell as gns where the pipe skirt is hitting / touching ....very difficult to see so I know about where to look ...also scribe around skirt each time you tap it down ...every time its little more accurate line than before ...just barely ...stay inside line until you see the skirt impression , then follow with chisel ....

Ok ...finally ! She's down and dirty ! When the tail is down and level , and the bottom of pipe entrance is level with ramrod channel , she's down ... I'll drill , pin and clean it up tomorrow....

Now just an FYI .....before I started , I checked the ramrod depth , how close to bottom and the barrel ...its up fairly had GH away from bottom so I can take the bottom of foreshock higher ...see where I'm pointing ? Its the transition... Forward of where I'm pointing is the height I want , flows with entry pipe , back from where I'm pointing needs to be taken to same .... or slight taper . Some where parallel , some tapered . With this one I'll probably go straight across as it lends itself to it but ....well see ....too much wood under lock mortice .... Time to check the garden and haul water to the house .....

Huh. I'm confused somewhat. I put in an order to Hollywood, I mean Dollywood, not two weeks ago. You shoulda got yer official, laminated "Celebrity Card" a couple days ago! I swear, Rob, I'll look into this directly!!

I will put forth all my great influence! But I feel it important to point out that I have not yet received the personally signed photograph of said Miss Johansson I requested some years ago! I had indicated that I prefered a slightly risque photo if possible. I'm fairly certain that my heartfelt, handwritten desire remains unseen on a crowded, busy desk!

I’m withTDM i like watching the progress as well and it’s coming along nicely.😉
She's really been fighting me !! LOL .... Can't wait to shoot it . I have to fit a frizzen to it , rebuild the lock ... she's a bear ... Gettin there though .... Little at a time ... It should've been done by now ...I figure 6-7 note work days till done building then finishing stage ...
