Yes that's the one. Any idea of a better scenario to transact this sale. Other than I send a money order and cross my fingers that he actually ships the gun?
I'd just call him.

I've never been scammed by taking simple steps such as contacting them, asking lots of questions and getting specific photos that they haven't yet produced of the gun.

The gun looks broke to me anyway, I can't see where the flint goes! 😉

Thanks flint62. I'm starting to feel better about this transaction. I hate thinking ill of people , especially people I don't even know. I grew up in a piss ant town in Montana where ya knew everyone and a handshake was yer word and yer bond. It's hard livin in this modern day. Guess that's why we dream of the old days and BP.
The new MT bp season seems to have helped some too. Between this and the sister forum there's been a lot come through the past couple of years.

I myself was tossing up between MT and WY when I started building points for elk and mule deer. Decided on MT and then realised I needed a hunter safety to buy points so had to go WY. Couple years later MT introduce the trad bp season - I picked the wrong horse!

I am trying to buy a rifle here myself. I never thought buyers would scare a seller. I figured if you tell me it's mine, I send you your choice of payment and you send me the rig. Seems like the risk is in the buyers court.

I found this site after looking for a renegade for months in my area. A buddy pointed me here and I realized there's a wealth of information and resources here.

I'm not specifically a traditionalist, in fact I have a machine shop at home and build centerfire rifles. I get bored with scoped rigs and found Idaho lewis and decided a tc is my next venture into challenge.

I never heard of many people here getting screwed over but it happens.

On Some archery site. I Just talked to a guy who shipped a bow and never got paid. It sounds like a process but in the end the guy going wish he paid.

Some of these guns there just not easy to get find etc. Price etc.

I got one from gun broker.. they sent it in a hard case in a box. I would paid for that on anything nice but it was Included.

I'm fine with sending a postal money order and having it sat on till it's hatched into cash. That's plenty fair in my perspective and should be totally safe for the seller.

Hello and welcome from PA. Can't really add anything more to what's been said other than I've bought a few items off others here and was pleased with all the outcomes. Had no issues so good luck.

Yeah they want money order. And when I asked him about shipping and insurance costs via USPS at 7:30 p.m. last he came up with costs. Red flag to me then said he'd drop costs to just an even $50.00. Another red flag to me. But I'm always suspicious.

I know there are two other pages I haven't read yet, but I'm going to reply to this anyway.
If the member can create his own label, there's NOTHING that should put up a read flag getting you a price for shipping at 7:30PM. You just plug in the numbers on the shipper's website.

And as someone mentioned to me... and I've brought up in a few threads and passed it on... pirateship.com is THE way to ship anything if you want to save a buck. Their business operates on buying/furnishing shipping labels to consumers at prices you get for bulk shipping. I've seen ML's shipped for 19 bucks USPS. It's probably how Dixie or Track, don't remember which, ships so cheap on their guns.

I’ve only bought once off this site and was very happy. I called and spoke with the gentleman for 30 min. He was very accommodating. I have bought or traded on many other sites. Always ask for a specific picture. Like a closeup of something they can’t pull off the internet. Sad, but I was scammed on another site because I didn’t do that. I think this site is less likely to have scammers. Everyone I interact with is fantastic and helpful. But I get nervous even when buying from a shop sometimes. I will also say, if you pay with a USPS MO, track it. I don’t trust the USPS to always get it to the right person. You can also track if a MO has been cashed. This is a great site and you can learn a lot here. Welcome!

Shipmygun. C o m is supposed to be very competitive also.

They used to be.
At least as far as handguns (of a certain ignition system ;) ) are concerned, they aren't any cheaper than dropping the gun off at my FFL to ship now.
I used to use them all the time until their rates almost doubled.
