Walks there ain't nothen on the market that will make it "completely" waterproof. Ya can work bees wax into it useing heat n grease it up real good n it will turn most moisture but it will never be water proof. Over the years I've found a "knee" to really be more trouble then they are worth, a good greasey rag wraped around the lock n haveing it tucked under yer armpit in nasty weather always seemed to work better for me. I never could figure out just how ya get the dang thing off real quiet like iffen a deer is sneaking up on ya, sure don't make for a quick shot. But thats just me. Grease er up good n see how it works for ya. YMHS Birdman

I found, hunting all day in rain and mist, that if I kept the gun tucked under my poncho, and under my arm, I could keep it dry. There was a problem with condensation on the underside of the poncho from my body heat, and from moisture being sucked up into the air from the damp ground under me. I chose to put a toothpick in my vent to protect the main charge, and left the pan dry until game was sighted in those conditions. But, the gun fired when I needed it, and I think that is all that is important. I have since learned to polish the pan to a mirror finish to make it less likely to hold powder residue which will draw moisture and leave a wet mess in the pan.

If you can get some sheep tallow - heat and work into the calfs knee ...... nothings 100% but this is darn close :hatsoff:
