Not sure if this is an old reproduction or a custom . Has features of both. Believe 50. Cal nothing on barrel. Thanks .

It looks to be fairly modern made or not used much after it was built. Someone made it without any reference material to follow and just made things up as they built it. In spite of its questionable stock shaping, it might be great shooter. I have a rife from the early 70s before hobby builders had the reference material we have today, the stock shaping is questionable but it will shoot just about through the same hole at 50 yards. This rifle started me on my flintlock journey and kept my freezer full.

Tell your friend to shoot the heck out of it and enjoy it.
