I am new to the older guns and am running around in circles trying to identify this. It was given to me by my grandfather and know nothing about it. There are no markings at all but hopefully someone can tell by the pictures. I would like to know what make model it is as well as a rough estimate on value. Thank you all in advance for your help!

Is the barrel marked under the wood?
Pics that are 90 degrees to the surface help a lot quartering shots make identification difficult.
A photo of the muzzle showing the bore, the lands and grooves, would be helpful as well.
Firearms are notoriously hard to photograph well which does not make the process easier.
The photo icon above the typing window will allow Photobucket image addresses to be added to post photos here.

Redroc,
Only a guess on my part but it looks like an Ohio half stock, 1880-90 period. There may be a barrel maker's name on the bottom of the barrel. Nice looking rifle in good condition. Good luck.

Look closely at the lock, top breech end of barrel, etc for any markings. I have a late target rifle, perch belly stock, half stock, no provision for a ram rod, single trigger. The only markings on it are a faint "Steele and Lathrop" on the back action lock and "Remington Cast Steel" stamped on the bottom of the 1-1/4" octagon barrel. You may have to use a magnifying glass to try and find some markings.
