I found 2 tins of #11 caps. Almost had a spasm, $24+ per tin! I could have bought a cap maker for that price. Can you use roll caps with the Tap O Cap, rather then buying their priming compound?

I have used roll caps in the past. Use an exacto knife to slice off the dot from the strip, and put in your home made cap using a wooden match stick. I have found that 2-3 dots seem to work well. Once the cap is loaded with the dots, I lightly spray the cap opening with Aqua-net hair spray to keep the dots in place.

I used caps but when I put on a new nipple the flash hole was smaller than the old one and plugged with cap paper if fired to clean after a swabbing. seems to work well to fire a load which blows back to clear the nipple. And yes 3 caps work well enough, use a leather multi punch plair gets them just bigger than the cap pushed in with a stick makes them nice n snug, then spray.

Buy the cap maker because who knows what’s coming down the proverbial pipe. You will need 3 easily obtainable chemicals to make the composition for your caps(antimony trisulfide, sulfur, potassium chlorate). A pound of each will likely make enough caps to last you a lifetime. I would discuss more in detail but the the overlords of the site will spank me for that.

Pardon the question but the hairspray doesn't affect the ignition of the caps?
