I have one of Zonie's guns on my computer at work as a screen saver . A coworker stopped by and asked why some of us gun owners have such a love affair with our guns. He suggested that we might even worship our guns. :hmm: I tried to give him several comparisons using his love of his old Chrysler product. So what convincing comments do you give a car buff about the love of your life? :hmm:

Car buffs are clueless. We can shoot replica's of guns hundreds of years old. Ever see a 200 year old car?

Some people don't get it and never will. Sometimes the best you can do is just get those people to accept us, and not to vote against our interests.

yeah, pretty much what I thought. I explained that rondys and BP shoots are a way for friends to get together with a common love. Also, at the rondys I have been at there was no beer allowed. While my coworker doesn't like guns, he still has a love affair with his car. No different from my love of rifles. He did like the fact that a m/l is not considered an assualt weapon. I think he figured we only get one shot at a time. Wait till he sees some of the loading blocks or the number of quick loaders that we carry. :haha:

An assualt weapon is anything used to attack another person including hands and feet. Damn media jumping on that bandwagon.

I never try and justify anything I do. Wasn't it Maxiball who said the best reason is, "Because I wanna". This is a most excellent philosophy, life's too short for anything else.

Sort of like the answer I give when somebody asks me why in the world I went through the training classes and the background checks to get a Concealed Carry Permit:

"Because I can"

Zman: You could mention that the reason you like old firearms is that it is easier to find a working 18th century Jacob Dickert Lancaster than it is to find a working 1957 Plymouth Fury.

       :haha: :haha: :haha:
