The brown strap I used 10 cards, 1".

The red one is 14 cards, 1 1/2".

The strap that is still in the clamps is 20 cards,This will be the last one I do with that many cards, I'm having trouble with the tension with the warp theads.
This is the first time I have done any kind of weaving. This is very interesting stuff to learn, there is many different patterns that can be done.I used wool from wallmart ,it seems to work ok.
I found that drinking a few beers and card weaving does not mix,It takes all the consentration I can muster up just to remember if I was on the forward role or on the backword role. :hmm:
Thanks paco97 for leading to a very easy book to learn this stuff. CARD WEAVING by Candace Crockett.

Thats some nice looking stuff!
I would enjoy learning the technique and various patterns if you could point me in tyhe right direction.
Just finished a 7 strand jute weave/flat braid, whih I could share the technique, for a narrow strap but the card weaving is more of what I'm after.
Share your knowledge or resources???

I like it!

Skunk:
Looks real good to me. I'm afraid I wouldn't have the patience to do that. Or maybe a hole bunch of beers might help me.
Great lookin job.

 Great looking straps Skunkskinner, you're a better man than me  I too looked at Paco97's post and then tried my hand at card weaving. It wasn't very long before I had a major snarl on my hands (and I didn't try it while sampeling beer :rotf: ) Perhaps if I had invested in Candance Crocketts book as he suggested I may have had different results
I have since built an Inkle loom and have been able to produce some straps and sashes using that method. But none are as nice as those that you have done
