I use traditional (🤣) plastic tubes also. I pre measure the powder at home. I use the same tubes for shot as well, I use a dipper for that. I carry my cushion wads and cards in a fancy brass dip can I bought from TOTW. If I'm running the Sky Chief load, I keep my saturated cushion wads in a recycled plastic dip can, or sometimes a Ziploc bag.

Like Banjo I also use the same measure for shot and powder. And I like a small shot horn. Making a new one right now. And I use sheep's wool over the powder and also over the shot so there is a wad of that in my man purse, er, shot pouch.

Simple leather flask with bison horn spout I made on a rainy afternoon years ago

I use the same adjustable powder measure I use for powder to measure shot

I use a medium size shot snake that I made with an English style spout for 11/4 oz or 11/2oz of #4 or 5 or 6. I use a small one with a Irish spout for 1oz. or 11/8 loads of #71/2's or #8. They will fall thru the English style... I made the pouches smaller than the old Original's that I have because when hunting usually only shoot 6 or 8 times no need to carry 5 lbs. of shot.

I made a horn with an English style shot head but have found I mutch prefer the Irish style on a leather pouch or snake. I have used an Irish style pouch for powder in the past but the new ones don't seem to be built as tight and tend to leak powder.

Shot gets carried in paper tubes. I have been using the skychief load lately so the cards are in a tin and the oily wads are in an old prescription container.
The tubes are placed in the bore and the top ripped off and the card goes over it.

I want a leather shot flask. And Powder flask..

The tubes work good.. the front is shot rear powder. I put the empty into the bottom of the bag loose.. up to 10 shots worth in the elk case. You can keep an extra case loaded up at the car just in case.

The top horn in this picture is the first horn I ever made. It didn’t turn out exactly like I thought it would but it makes a dandy shot horn. Right now it’s full of #6 shot. The bamboo measure attached to it is about 60 grains and used for shot and powder. The other horn is for powder and there’s a 60 grain measure attached to it. The homemade bag holds a few round balls, some jute tow, a vent pick, a turn screw and a few extra flints and flint leather. The Fusil de Chasse is .60 caliber.

Shot snake for small game and upland bird. I carry so much stuff into the woods for turkey that I just use the 4 tubes from Dixie (shared by trigger above) as it's easier and I shouldn't need (and likely won't get) more than one shot.

Also, my shot horn does not rattle. It definitely doesn’t scare off squirrels. I move slowly and carefully through the squirrel woods when I have to move. My clumsy footfalls would make more disturbance than a shot horn.
