No matter which paper cartridge former I've purchased(most of them), I've found a little bit of practice was necessary until you've acquired the finesse to make them tight and consistent.

Yes, it takes about 5 before your fingers get used to them. The larger barrelled Sharps and 12ga are even trickier, especially with a long shot cup. I just made a new video for the 12ga, and should have others within a few weeks.
