Well, my day started off with going to the range to shoot my Sharon Trade Rifle and GPR. When I arrived, it looked like every member of the shooting club was there! You couldn't turn around without bumping into someone. I knew it would probably be like this with the weekend and nice weather and all.

Ended up turning the car around and heading back home. If you are me and you can't shoot, the best next thing is to make some balls!

Was a beautiful day for casting. Ended up casting some .440, .490, and .530

The day ended up being a fun day Sunday!

Good stuff! I absolutely love to collect range scrap if I can after shooting. I am looking forward to my next casting session, got a caliper coming to go along with my scale.

Looks like you gave that little pot a real workout -- nicely done!!

Yer work area is just too clean. :shake: Thet's almost sinful. And on a Sunday.
Wats with the sandwich making machine?
We got the sandwich maker in a gift exchange some years back. Set in the back bedroom with all the other unpackaged stuff we've accumulated through the years.

Anyway, heard of others using a hotplate to heat up spare molds when working with another.

I often cast with a couple of molds with the same caliber and switch back and forth which works out great and keeps both plenty hot enough.

I also cast several calibers during the same session. A little while before I change calibers, I put two molds of the caliber I'm switching to on the sandwich maker to heat up while I'm finishing up with the caliber I'm presently casting.

When I do start the new caliber, the molds are plenty hot and ready to start casting good balls from the very start.

Or if I take a break during my session, I place the mold in the sandwich maker and it keeps it at casting temperature until I resume my casting session.

Besides, It says it can make a BREAKFAST SANDWICH in just 5 minutes!

My session ended with 204 (.440), 231 (.490), and 160 (.530), for a total of 595 balls. It was a great day for casting!

I used to think nothing of spending a day casting and cranking out 1k of RBs. Now I'm lucky to do more than 100 before I get tired of it. I could do more if I really had to but I don't so I don't. Nice set up and I agree, it's way too clean but not surprising as meticulous as you are. They do look real good!
