Cool little Caucasian style lock arrives from Turkey today (Perserey Handicrafts). Has a nice spark! The ball thing is a trigger. Took a scenic tour through the post offices in WV for some unknown reason. It’s going into storage for a while as I’ve been sluggish working on my Matchlock. I may be hibernating!!!

Hmmm. DEI requires you have an Asian, African, and Pacific Islander lock, too! ;)

Question- does that Philips head screw on the forward inside part of the lock extend out past the inside face of the bolster? ( and protrude into the side of the barrel )
It does. I assume it’s to be trimmed off when I fit it to the stock. Wasn’t 100% sure about that.

Well I’m an Asian Pacific Islander so I already checked that box. But I may make a Chinese style matchlock some day.
Chinese matchlock ! I like your style there like very long barrelled pistols but they go off . Not quite as bizzarr as Cyngoleese left handed snaphances but definatly in the same boat for' style. 'Ide jump over a big pile of Hawkens just to get to one of those .(At the risk of being hounded by the Hawken affecionados Society) No accounting for taste .

Also, nice ball trigger. No one that I know of in the U.S. makes a universal type ball trigger. That would be worth doing a wax casting.
Right? How cool is that! Maybe I’ll scan it and make a 3D printable one. That way it can be lost wax cast. In the process of 3D printing a front band for my Berthier Carbine. It’s going fair so far - I’m quite an amateur at it so it’s taking a hot minute.
