Along with the Kentucky rifle came a cva flashpan measure. There was a note in it saying the last owner never got it to work right. I've been foolin with it but have had no luck so far finding out how it works.
Dose anyone have one or has anyone thrown one away?

Are you talking about the brass things with the little spout on the end that you push on the bottom of the pan and it drops out a couple of grains?

If you mean a pan primer flask, most of them will only work with 4f powder. Just fill it up, put the cap back on, and push it down into the pan and then remove. It should leave about 3 gr of powder behind in the pan.

It has a spring loaded end on it. I took it apart to see how it works but could not see how any powder could find its way out. :hmm:

scarecrow, when you take it apart, you'll see that the spout piece has a hole going from side-to-side at one end...that's the end that goes into the flask...the idea is that, when you depress the spout against its spring, a small amount of powder enters that transverse hole and is then allowed to flow out of the spout...Hank

After pulling it apart I found that the spring was bunching at bolth ends. I trimed it down a little and it works fine now. I think I have a spring that will work in its place. Thanks for the help.
