What does everyone use? CCI or Remington caps?

Also on my Uberti 1851 Navy .36, the Remington #10 caps are loose fitting. Should I use a #11?

Thanks again.

Thats interesting. CCI 11's are a lose fit on my Uberti 1860 Army, needing to be pinched, and Remington 10's are a perfict fit. The Rem are longer in the body too.

#10 caps are smaller than #11 caps. If 10s are loose 11s will be even looser.

Talking specifically about Remington caps, that really isn't true. According to a chart that "mykeal" often posts here, Remington #10s are the same diameter, if not a little bigger, than Remington #11s. The reason the Remington #10s give a tighter fit on many revolver nipples is because they are considerably longer than the #11s. This extra length allows them to seat farther onto the tapered nipple, resulting in a tighter fit.

Here's your chart:

The caveats:
The numbers are the averages of measurements on at least 20 samples of each brand and size of cap listed. The opening diameter measurements are very difficult to make so those numbers probably have an error of from +/- 0.002 to as much as +/- 0.004 inches. Others have attempted the same measurements and gotten significantly different results. It's likely the dimensions vary significantly from batch to batch; after all, you don't get three digit precision for 4 cents any more. However, I think it's pretty safe to say that CCI and Remington don't use the same spec for size; that is, a Remington No. 10 is not the same size as a CCI No. 10, and the same thing holds for No. 11's. And while a CCI No. 10 is smaller than a CCI No. 11, the Remington No. 10/No. 11 relationship is exactly the opposite.

CCI 10s were too tight on my colt and 58 remmy....sometimes it would take 2 hammer strikes to get them to go

Rem 10s seemed to work just right

Yep, I had referred to the chart for my post. I just didn't want to post the chart without your permission.

Looking again, and knowing the error that is possible in those measurements, it seems like there is very little difference between the CCI caps, either in length or I.D. Maybe there's a difference in I.D., but it is a very small difference. Remington, on the other hand, uses cap length to accomplish a tighter-fitting cap.
