LOL Paul, it certainly wasn,t the owner or myself that was on the phone. I always enjoy talking to customers as did the owner. The idea was to generate bussiness not discourage it. You can have the barrel trimmed to any length you like, right down to a blanket gun, and they don't get any smaller then that. It would not be proper for me to offer up information for posting here until I had permisssion from the Owner and this Site. I will run this by him also and have a reply for you later. Good Hunting.

empty thanks for helping me out...are his locks and barrels engaved or is that a stamp on them????

I have no idea what gun you were viewing. All guns were stamped at the breech by the shop the lock plate was done at the time of casting. Anything more elabroate was done by me at the time. I usually signed them with either crossed pipe hawks or a Fleur de lis on the butt.

Emptyquiver, I believe when I ordered (ordered 2 in the white) it had just changed hands. Must have been this time of yr. because I remember him telling me he was busy with his farm.
Centermark still advertizes in Muzzleloader or he did in the May-June 2009 issue I just checked.
Deadeye

I had a CenterMark gun in 1991 time frame. Bought it in the white and sent it to Dave Dolliver (I was in the sand box) for finishing and tuning. Man, I could shoot that gun - wish I still had it. :(

I had one until just recently famliy comes first ya know . It was made very well had a nice feel to wood to metal fit was great and shot great. My friends & other members in my club own them and love them at least 6, and they all shoot and shoot well!

Returned from the shop today. There is one Grenadier in the white along with six DeChasses' finished with varying pulls and one Beck style smooth rifle. There is also about a dozen guns in various stages in the rack. It will be difficult to reach anyone until the end of October as its Harvest season now. In November there will be more activity in house into the new year.

so I saw in a post on the forsale section, a comment about center mark making smoothbore kits...however when I googled center mark....I got nothing. Is the company still around?

Sorry, they're long gone at this point. Their guns, store-bought & kit-made, show up on auction or TOTW sites from time to time though.

No, they are around . This topic was brought up on the Frontier Folk Message Board. One of thier "representatives",who I know, Stated as such.
Good luck getting a hold of them.thier business model is right up there with TRS.
They are a good ,functional gun ,Somewhat overpriced IMO, and dont tell me they are "histerrically correct" as advertised.I could fill a page up with whats wrong about them.

But what do i know.............Enjoy!
