It seems a number of Forum members own Centermarks. And they usually get high marks. Mine shoots well and has always been reliable. I'm sure you will get responses from others here. Good choice for a semi-custom gun.

my judgeing is they are HIGH quality fusils. only caywood or a full custom shop would be of higher quality. the ones I have seen are excellent workman ship.

I liked mine very much. I did inlay the trigger
guard about 1/16 and carves some molding. I found
it very accurate and light compared to my Bess.

Where are these available? I tried googling them, but don't see a website or place that sells them? :hmm:

I love mine in 20 gauge. I'd really like to get another one, maybe in 28 gauge,,,,, oooh, or maybe a 16 gauge. Great gun, so much lighter and handier than they look. Mine is very accurate with round ball,, when I practice with it, which I don't have as much time for as when I bought it, so I bought a smooth rifle with a rear sight.
Some say they are not an accurate representation of a period FdC, but I have yet to get a straight answer on why not, usually get told to go buy and read some expensive books.

Enjoy yours, and if you don't,,,, you know where to find me, I'll give it a good home.

At one time they made both the hunting fusil plus a 'grenadier' version...which appeared similar with a barrel band. Haven't handled the 'grenadier' version but have had the opportunity to shoot two of the fusil de chasse version. Both appeared to be decent guns and well built!

They are not. In short: the woods wrong barrels wrong( too short and wrong profile) lack of any carving, triggerguard needs to be inlet, wrong side plate, incorrect front sight, the lock only slightly resembles originals, ramfod pipes are incorrect, and the stock is way too chubby as per the originals I've seen
That being said, they are well made reliable arm.

I have one and it's my favorite gun. As noted above its not perfect, but you have to look close to see, and you can alter the gun to get it closer. I altered a little, it's far from perfect. It's not the very best... You get what you pay for, or wait for.

And wait, and wait, and wait. :haha: I have a Coloraine barrel I ordered from TOTW that has been on backorder for 14 months now. :cursing:

Interestingly, I met one of the people who was with Center mark/ Ray Woodall at the beginning. Without naming names , he shed interesting light on the company and their M.O. 'I left much more educated and informed from the meeting. It actually made my day.My previous post is still valid though.

I have shouldered center mark several times and they are always very nice pointers. every owner loved their weapon too. I tried to get ahold of paul at CM and couldn't do it. I have never tried so hard to give my money to a merchant to no avail. about 50 phone calls, really not kidding, and an ol' fashioned US postal letter. never got a response.. sooooo had to look elsewhere.
alex, can you post a few pics of some of your French girls so we can see a nice one...

I have heard, although not entirely reliable they might be out of business. They're business model mirrors TRS.
Go to Facebook, look up "'French fusil's by Alex Efremenko'' and you can see some stuff.

The original owner, Ray Woodall, got away with $700 of mine in the 1990's that I prepaid for a gun when he closed shop and stopped answering the phone.

Paul Siebert, ( the second owner ) on the other hand, could have not been better to deal with when I got a gun from him in 2004.
Was kind of hard to get a hold of, though.
