Hi, all.
I'm planning a New England/Colonial Fowler from Jim Chambers in 12 gauge as a project in the very near future. Would love to hear any comments, advice, etc. from those who have one, have built one, or whatever. Pictures, of course, would be wonderful. Thanks for your time and to all those who reply.

I built this one a couple years ago, I highly recommend it.

 Beautiful piece, Sir. Hold on, need to wipe up the drool....... :haha: I've told Barbie I'd like the "extra fancy" wood upgrade. Surely that stock qualifies....

Thanks for the reply, when the "time comes", I'll probably run into questions to bombard you with, if that's ok.

Thanks again,
Hugh

I happen to know they actually have Rayl barrels in stock for that gun as I write. Don't doddle if you're serious about getting one, now's the time.

In Re: the guns we talked about yesterday,I found a third gun. All three are by the same maker{I Ludlam}and have short barrels,36+,37+,and 31+.One has a conventional military sideplate, another has the sideplate found on the Forester gun and the third isn't shown. The butt architecture is generally the same and bears a close resemblance to the one you posted.None of them has the abrupt straighr comb entrance into the wrist that you see on Brown Besses and related guns.I liked the gun you posted and with a little military motiff engraving on the furniture, it could easily be an officer's privately contracted fusil.Good work.

Great looking gun and an excellent choice. I'd like to have a look at a big gobbler with that one.

 That's my thoughts, too, Swampman. I have my Southern/Mtn. .50 flinter, but I want me a "year 'round" gun. Particularly for them strutting critters what tend to talk so much at sunrise.
