Hi all,
I'm new to the board, and posted this on the "Smoothbore" forum, and realize I might have been better-advised to place it here. Forgive the double post.

I'm planning a New England/Colonial Fowler from Jim Chambers in 12 gauge as a project in the very near future. Would love to hear any comments, advice, etc. from those who have one, have built one, or whatever. Pictures, of course, would be wonderful. Thanks for your time and to all those who reply.

Hugh

The first and foremost advice is to get a couple of build books. The two most recommended are Dixon"s, and the Gunsmith of Grenville county, by Alexander. It's a toss up if you only get one, but my choice would be Alexander's. I would then review the archives, and copy out some hint's you think are helpful, a lot of us have binders with a lot of subjects printed out for reference. Both books are available from Track of the Wolf, and MBS, and others. Others will chime in with other tips but I would start there. Chambers kits are among the best. Good luck and welcome to the Forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Bill
