I need a photo of the cock cam meeting the spring. It cocks mean and it should be smooth. I bought it this way, something is definetely wrong. 1st time I ever looked inside of one,odd main spring.
Thank You!

By "cock cam" are you talking about the spur or camlike shape that sticks out of the front of the locks tumbler? The mainspring pushes against it.

Do you mean the brass framed thing with the frizzen spring on backwards? Mine is marked Navy Arms but I believe they were made by Palmetto which was one of the worst of the Italian makers. They have a number of problems! Take the barrel out and see if the ramrod is pressing against the right side of the tumbler when it is in place. I had to grind the tumbler down because it not only made it hard to cock but also slowed down the hammer fall. The area of the tumbler that the mainspring bears against as well as the end of the mainspring need to be polished. With that out of the way you will most likely find the mainspring is too strong and needs to be lightened some. The full cock notch and sear nose will need work next and the trigger spring is probably too heavy also.
The shape of the cock is OK and the frizzen timing was pretty good on mine but the frizzen cam and where it bears on the spring need to be polished. My frizzen spring was away too strong too. Whoever built this thing probably learned their trade making bear traps. If all that doesn't get it working turn it around and grab it by the barrel, it makes an exceptionally fine club! :haha:

Thanks, I just thought something was wrong or a piece missing. I guess it's SNAFU :idunno: for sure.
