Well my first trade gun match of the year is behind me. We had been in Ft. Collins Co. helping our kids move into their new house, got home on a Tues and left for Rendezvous on Thurs Got in a hurry to set up my pouch up for the 62 cal. Northwest Trade gun. First shot was about a foot high, and seemed to kick more than usual. After 2 more shots I knew for sure something was wrong, but what? Finally figured it out. Had picked a horn of 3F instead of 2F. For the rest of the shoot I down loaded about 1/3 and did alright. Sunday we did the clay bird part of the shoot (winds gusting to 30 mph) but I had some 2F with me and got my loads right. Got 2nd place but if I had just checked everything I might have gotten 1st. or at least have had to look for a different excuse.

No Powder,
Ah, confession is good for the soul! I once got to the smoothbore shoot with no balls for the .62 smooth yeager. Later I realized that I had had the box of balls in the shooting box. I had opened the box and thought they were not the right ones an took them out of the shooting box! Well whack the heel of my hand on my forehead.
God bless.

A way around that powder confussion is to mark the horns, FFg and FFFg in big, blaze-orange letters... :D

Having the wrong powder is still better than forgetting to bring any powder...
