So, I traded for an Armi-Sport 1863 Sharps sporting rifle, sn SH0011, and I've been getting ready to shoot it. Built some cartridges for it today. I have disassembled, inspected, and reassembled the weapon. It is very low miles, and seems to operate like it should. It has a standard single trigger, and let me tell you, the pull weight is astronomical. It has a little slip before it breaks. I will polish the surfaces to try to remedy that.
Here's my question. Single set and double set triggers are both available for this model. Does anyone here have any experience with either on their Chiappa rifle?
Are there any tricks or modifications to make the standard Sharps trigger any lighter? I know this is complicated by the 2-n-1 main/sear spring setup. Somethings gotta give though, or I'm going to have to start doing weighted trigger finger curls with eye of the tiger playing in the background.
