Got a 6 pointer this morning with the new .58cal GM Flint barrel in a TC Hawken flintlock.

He came out of a trail from a thick 2nd growth clearcut area that leads into the woodlot where my tree stand is, quartering towards me crossing slightly to my left.

I had time to slip off a glove, set the trigger, get lined up, whistle stopped him at about 40yds, the TC Hawken Flintlock fired off like a .30-30, never knew what hit him.

You guys are killin' me our regular firearms season doesn't begin till Nov. 22! I was out with my longbow this morning and saw a huge buck at about 75 yards through thick brush.

I couldn't tell you how many points he had I can tell what he didn't have he for sure wasn't a spike or a fork horn.
Even through the thick stuff and at that distance I could tell he had a nice rack on his head!

congratulations...same load I am shooting out of my Green Mountain .58

The only difference is I have not seen a doe yet. Seen lots of bucks but our doe season is over, so I do not start again for a couple more weeks.....

Congratulations again....

Nice job. I have thought about getting a .58 for elk one of these days....

Any pics?
