My daughter gave me a CO2 ball discharger for Christmas, and I finally got a chance to try it out. I put a patched round ball down the barrel (sans powder), and then took it out in the yard to try it out. I pointed the barrel up slightly towards the woods, just to see how far it would go. Man, that thing popped out of the barrel, clearing my back yard and ending up in the trees. I don't know how I have gotten along this many years without one of those little rascals.

I've thought about buying one just to have in case of "emergency". Right now I use my air compressor in the garage.

A great big dangerous air gun! I used one to get a ball and powder out of my flint gun, the ball went clean thru a box with about 2 1/2 feet of newspaper in it and across room hit an old bed frame and split in half. Could only find one half. Would have had a hard time explaining a hole in wall so its a good thing that bed frame was there!

Trouble explaining a hole in the wall??? Easy.

Honey, a &@*med raccoon came walking thru the back door today. Knowing how you hate animals walking thru your kitchen, I took care of him tout suite. Yeah, there's a little hole in the wall, but that's one critter you'll NEVER have to worry about again!

They do come in handy. I always take mine to the range but never in the field. Don't know why?? :hmm:
snake-eyes :hatsoff:

One reason why to take it in the field... If you have two deer in front of you and you want both of them.... Get the first one using just the ball discharger so as not to scare the second one.... reload and get the second one the usual way..... :rotf:
