Being that Colorados ML Elk season is by draw only, what type of hunting pressure can one normally expect to encounter? I know this is kind of a broad question with probably a lot answers. Im just looking at what you folks have experienced over the years.

Pressure will vary by unit. Some of the "statewide" units get a bit more pressure. The limited draw units are usually less crowded. Bow hunters are in the field at the same time but not all that many.

How much pressure around you will depend a lot on how far in you get from the end of all motorized access. General rule is one mile to find elk activity and most hunters will not go in much more than a mile if they will go that. So, I'd say that no matter where you hunt if you get off the beaten path you will be pretty much alone.

I agree with Marmotslayer. Once into the woods by about a mile (or more), in the units I have hunted, you probably won't see anyone else. I bumped into an archery hunter only once, as I saw game and made a mad dash towards it, right past the archer, who saw nothing. This was after a climb of 2000 feet and maybe a couple of miles.
In all probability, when in the ML season you won't see another hunter if you get into the woods, even if you have a camp with a lot of hunters in it. pressure is usually very light during ML season, which makes the hunt all that more enjoyable.

Our camp is at approx. 10,000 ft. elev. and at the end of a logging road and there's a fair amount of traffic especially before the season opens. Have never met another hunter outside our party when hunting and we don't go in very far but it's a steep uphill climb from our camp and have been hunting from this camp since 1987....Fred
