Here's the finished smoothbore. This project was so much fun, but sure was alot more work than the Traditions Hawken I did 10 years ago. It's far from perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with it and I learned a ton. I know it's probably not completely PC, but it turned out close to how I hoped it would. Thanks to everyone on the board who answered so many question through the process. Zonie and Birdog6 answered so many pm's and they usually answered extra questions that arose later in the project. Glad I kept the pm's for reference.

I already purchased parts to make a 32 cal next. That is my favorite caliber and I have it in a percussion cva now. The one I will be building is a Verner styled Long Rifle with swamped barrel from Pecatonica.

Thanks again.

Very nice work. I like it. Keep oiling the stock sparingly and rub it down a lot. It'll develope some satin sheen.

Looks to be a fine piece in all respects, except perhaps the stock, -- that would have to be classed as 'SUPERFINE'. Ya done good; salute!

Looks darn nice!!! Who did you purchase your parts from ? Who is the lock maker ?

Thanks all. I forgot to add all that. It's a .62 cal Octogon to round Smoothbore from Pecatonica. The lock is a L&R.

Thanks Gobbler. The finish in the pics is 4 coats of Danglers Reddish brown. It was real dark so I washed it out a little and then put on 7 coats of rubbed tung oil. I said finish in the pics because I just put another coat of tung oil on and plan to get in about a dozen total now. So like 4 more coats about.

Thanks for the added info Kmeyer your stock looks great like the color also
