I got my .62 cal coning tool today from Joe Woods' Firelock Shop. VERY fast shipping! But guess what, my .62 cal Colerain barrel is really a .61 cal!!!!! I called Joe because the pilot bushing part of the tool wouldn't fit in the bore so he asks me to measure it. Luckily I had my Lyman dial calipers handy and sure 'nuff the bore measures .610 land to land. Hell's bells! He's gotta whip up a tool tonight with a pilot bushing that will fit my bore and mail it tomorrow, what a great guy. Anybody else have a .61 cal rifle? No wonder I had a heck of a time feeding her a .610 ball!!

Yes he is.

We had a big fal-de-ral over coning a while back, and I asked none other than Don Getz what he thought about coning. He said:
Actually, the little tool that Joe Woods makes does a better job than what we do. His tool does a longer cone, and, I think if coning is done right, it will not hurt accuracy, and will surely make for easier loading.

There can be NO higher praise than that. :imo: (And yes, Don did say I could quote him).
