On the back cover of the latest Muzzle Blasts is a one page add for the Contemporary Longrifle Association Annual show in August. I have looked at the items on their web site which are for sale and some of the workmanship is outstanding.

Has anyone been to the annual show and if so how would you rate it on a 1 to 10 scale? Prices, comments on what is avaiable for sale if you have been to the show? If you have been there, would you go back?

Looks like it could be a nice road trip if things there are worth while.

Thanks

RDE

I've been there 6 years in a row for the Saturday session. If you go on Saturday , get there early. It is well worth the trip and it would be worth the price of a hotel to have a more relaxing trip. I only have to travel 2 hours, but I might do an overnighter this year. Take some money with you, but no matter how much you take, it won't be enough. Many of the vendors there are pretty pricey, but you can find some good deals and you also have to realize that there isn't any shipping added. You just may give up trying to build a gun altogether when you see some of the work lying on the tables!!Go!!!!!!

I attended the first several shows when they were being held in Cincinati. There were a lot of excellent displays and very good siminars.
You will find all kinds of guns and accouterments there from the moderately priced to the high end, one of a kind, works of art.
It is worth your time to go and see the kind of work being done today.

Regards, Dave

I have been to every one so far, and I'm 12 hours+- from Lexington! If you have an interest in black powder/muzzleloading, you NEED to go!

When you get there, look me up and say hello. My table is close to the center of the main room. There will be a black bear rug on the table along with an assortment of Southern Mountain Rifles, Southern knives, horns, bags, turkey calls, etc. Also will probably bring a couple of original Gillespie Rifles from my native Mountains  .

Andreas, it's in Lexington, Kentucky 16,17,18 August coming up! Make a deal with you :hmm: . Bring Miss Tessa, get on Delta Airlines and fly over! We've got plenty of room for each of you, and we'll feed you well with good Southern Food  .

I've been to all of the CLA Shows, and had a display table at all but the first one. I'll be there this August with my Southern Mountain Rifles on display again, and you can help me out!

After the Show my wife, grandson and I will take Miss Tessa and you down to Orlando to see Mickey Mouse Land. All it will cost you is a six-pak of Flensburger Winterbock  .
