Cool dark places

I see some recipies state you should store things in a cool dark place, living in an apartment that is not really possible.

How bib a difference does it really make? Will putting things in the refrigerator work just as well?

Sure it would... its cool and its dark :: I also use a cabinet in the bathroom it stays cooler and its dark... or in a closet... anyplace the heat doesnt get to real good and you can close off...

Under the kitchen sink or bathroom sink is cool and dark as well.That's where My step dad keep's his home brued beer.
