For the past five years I've been participating in a project with NYS game biologists for a ruffed grouse census and harvest survey. I have to log hours afield, grouse flushed & killed and some other data. As recognition this year my package came with a patch. . . . but "Cooperator?" Couldn't they have come up with a better description? Sounds like I'm turning states evidence at a hearing.
When I was first asked I told the man I mostly hunted with a single-barrel muzzleloader shotgun and it's more grouse scaring than hunting, but he was agreeable. They're mostly interested in time vs. flushes.
