Anyone ever make a measure out of copper? Friend of mine made one and gave it to me. It's too modern to post pics here but was curious if there are any floating around out there in the world.

I have an original copper measure from the 19th century which is essentially a thin copper tube with a loop fashioned in the top out of copper.
I don't have a picture but the tube is the the same diameter the entire length.

Never made one from copper, but I've made several powder dippers from shell casing, soldered a brass handle on and soldered the primmer shut. Cheap and works great. Just trim to length/powder charge.

Yes, I make them from copper tubing. Material is (relatively) cheap and easy to work with. What I do is very simple. I'll use about 1/2" tubing, cut to about 3/4" inch longer than the guesstimated length I'll need, squash one end in the vice, drill a hole through the flattened end, grind off the sharp corners then measure actual volume. If too much I'll cut or grind the tube shorter. As far as not looking 'right', after one or two uses it is dark and acceptably grungy.
