In the 2006 DGW Black Powder Annual, Mike Nesbitt recommends copper coated steel BBs for waterfowl use.

My question is; do you think the copper coating protects the barrel from the damage that can be caused by steel shot on the bore? :hmm:

In a nutshell, NO!! You'll still scratch up your bore with the copper plated stuff. Most of the coatings for steel (zinc is another one) are there to prevent rust.
