Because Corian can be sanded to whatever finish you want, any "felt" grain would depend on what grit sanding medium was used to finish it. It could probably also be roughly checkered or stippled. Any "seen" grain would depend on which color/type of Corian used (solid, granite, marble, etc).
Corian is very temperature sensitive. Extreme changes will easily crack it (either hot or cold) and especially if they are sudden changes (e.g. don't leave it in full sun or on the dash of a vehicle). It is also impact sensitive and can shatter, crack or chip if dropped. This pretty much applies to all brands of acrylic/polymer solid surfacing material, except Swanstone (fiberglass based).
Used to be the outside sales manager for a large wholesale distributor that supplied the building industry (including cabinet makers). Carried several brands of solid surfacing raw stock and taught builders/cabinet shops how to fabricate counter/desk tops, showers, etc from it in the homes/offices they built.
Personally, I wouldn't use it for grips.
