I was just reading the thread on corn cob pipes and I was thinking, will dried corn cobs make a good wad for shotgunners to use?

You can cut them to diameter easy enough with a sharp pipe sized to your bore, so I was a wondering if they would work or just blow apart... :hmm:

Has anyone tried this before?

sounds like a cob job to me. I bet they would work fine and will try it. Some cobs are soft in the center. Cobs have been used to clean "bores" before, so they might do well in sweeping up "fouling".
