Not cheap. $50. Has a lever to hold the needle when transporting. Based on Smithsonian Corps of Discovery 1803.
I was near the $150 free ship total, so I got free shipping by adding. Saved $10.

The lid locks tight to the case when you close it. That's what the pin and socket at 6 o'clock position is for.
The other round thing at 2 o'clock is a pin attached to that wide bar which you see on the dial. The narrow bar is the needle. Thus the wide bar lifts up to hold the narrow needle steady when the lid is closed. Automatically, every time.
