Just dug these out again and thought maybe some would like to see them. These came from a relic we had when I was a kid. It was a half stock 20 ga percussion. The walnut stock was cracked and nailed together in several spots. The barrel and lock were nothing but rust. I remember the lock plate said "Warrented" on it, no idea where that is now...wish I did.

I thought it was pretty neat how the thin steel thimbles were made.

Maybe someday I can use the butt plate and trigger guard on a project. :peace:

Looks to me like your well on your way towards owning another gun!
All you have to do is fill in a few missing pieces, add a few hours of work and you'll be set!

I keep looking for an old beater gun at the gunshows I go to with the intention of salvaging the parts and building them into something new. Seems like a cool idea to me, giving new life to an old gun.

My problem has been most folks who have something that has most of the pieces seem to think it was a valuable part of the Mayflowers supplies and should be priced accordingly. :shocking:

The other end of the scale is the gun which is missing the patch box door, the trigger guard has chunks missing, the thimbles were made out of a rusty 1883 Corned Beef Can, the set trigger is missing the trigger leaving only the "set", someones little angle engraved the sideplate with a cold chisel....

I keep telling myself what so many others have told themselves as they stand at the counter at the photo shop: "Someday my Prints will come." ::

Seriously, you ought to think about building something with those parts.
