I really feel the need to hunt coyotes, I live in south eastern Pa and we normally don't hear of them in these parts too much.
I'm willing to drive and stay over night in hotel but have no idea as to where to go.
Any help would be appriciated.
Craig

Craig, last year I bought a cabin in Snow Shoe -- in northern Centre County. Until then, I never know much about coyotes in PA -- never heard of them when growing up in Fulton County (south central PA). Anyway, I have never seen a coyote, but I see lots of sign. Tracks are all over the place, and I see scat along the trails.
The big public land up there is Sproul state forest.
Happy hunting...Bob

Bob,
Welcome to the forum, Thanks for the Tip. Santa brought me an electronic caller this year. I'll use it around home for fox but really want to get some coyote hunting in.
Is your cabin in the state forest? I wonder how they are with hunting at night. Well I guess after the other hunting seasons are out I could hunt thru the day.
Thanks Again
Craig

Last June I flew out of Harrisburg after attending the Kentucky Rifle Assoc. meeting in Carlisle. When we taxied down to the end of the runway and made the turn to take off,I looked out the window and saw two of the largest coyotes I've ever seen catching rats/mice in the grass alongside the runway. Bet you could set up there in the airport and have some good shooting...just don't let Homeland Security see you :rotf:.

Heck I bet I could just climb up one of the cooling towers at TMI and just plink them form there.
Even the coyote are smart enough to stay up wind of TMI.

They are as thick as flies in my neck of the woods. I believe some farmers down here would pay your way to come down and shoot some on their land. My feeling is that though you may not be hearing them, they are still there. I would check with some of the farmers hanging out at cournty stores or feed mills in your area. Strike up a conversation, you'll find out if there are any coyotes around and you will probably find someone willing to give you access to his land to take a few out for him.

Good Idea JR.
Just this morning I did hear of a farmer that shot a 50 lb yodi just last week in his goat pen. I may have better luck around here than I had thought.
