I am selling a custom, hand-engraved Pieta 1851 Navy. I got it from Andrew Oakley. His original description follows. I probably paid too much for it but I can't imagine how many hours went into engraving this. Looking to get $1200 including shipping OBO

Modern Colt Model: 1851
Manufacturer: Pieta

Engraved in the style of factory deluxe engraved, with tight Germanic scrollwork on a cross lined background, Colt London Model 1851 Navy revolver manufactured in 1855. The 1855 revolver can be seen here http://www.icollector.com/Extraordi...olt-London-Model-1851-Navy-Revolver_i15828148.

The engraved surfaces on all parts is equal to the ones seen in the link above model antique revolver.

The finish is case hardened on the trigger, the hammer and the loading lever. The rest of the finish is charcoal blue. All pins are fine blue.

This Pieta revolver was engraved at William Henry Andy Oakley and Sons Militaria http://whoasmiliteria.azurewebsites.net by the engraver John Mishtenko, member of the British Hand Engravers Association.

Don't want to offend but in reality what you have is an incorrect $200 replica that someone, at sometime, decided to spend a bunch of money on. It's going to be a tough sell.

I agree--put a lot of work & expence into a brass frame revolver

Yup. But it would be a shame to sell it for a song though after all that work was done. Might want to advertise it far and wide and play the long game to recoup some of that money. Eventually you might find someone who wants it for the beauty of the piece and doesn't care so much that it's a $200 brasser underneath it all.
