Fred, my first ever build, back in 1970 was a "kit" from Dixie...an old bbl, old perc lock with new hammer, old trigger guard, new trigger, old butt plate, new wood...cost $14.95...Dixie said they'd found the "old" parts in a warehouse...it was really easy, and came out pretty well....if I were in your situation, I wouldn't hesitate to try and scare up the parts and wood to do a "semi scratch" build...might end up with a pretty interesting gun...Hank
