I picked up this used CVA .54 Frontier Hunter a couple years back at a flea market for $150 which I think was a pretty good price. It is my first BP gun and I finally got around to shooting it just before Christmas. What fun!

I'm not sure of it's vintage, but I don't think it is very old. It has a rubber butt pad, sling studs, and scope mounts, so pretty sure it has been used for hunting or was intended to be. It looks similar to a Hawken.

It came with what appears to be a homemade fiberglass ramrod which I have replaced with a new aluminum one. Overall it is in very nice condition.

This purchase and subsequent fun shooting led me to order a Traditions Kentucky Rifle kit, something I have been wanting to build for a long time.

Looking forward to more BP fun!

That laminated stock looks nice and I think they're 'sposed to be stronger than the regular wood stock. The scope mounts were added after purchase, hopefully by a competent 'smith.
