I've been working on this kit for a while now and I'm at the stage of applying finish to the wood. There's a coat of Tru-Oil on now, but I'm wondering what brand of wax would be the right choice for the top coat? Also, any ideas on what to use for the barrel. I originally thought I'd brown the barrel, but the tang and screws are all black. Any recommendations for that?

If you want a browned barrel why not strip the tang and screws then brown the whole lot together? Should come out looking the way you want it to.
