I’m fairly new here but over the last year Iv been reading and learning as much as I can Iv found a soft spot for the Cva mountain rifle as I now have 4 of them 3 of which are made in USA 2 .50 cal and 1 45. Cal kit new in box (my most recent one) I also have a .50 from Spain that has the word “Mountain” on it these rifles are most definitely tack drivers as they outshoot my T/c renegade two to one they also outshoot a Charles daily hawken I had and let go the closest rifle I have in accuracy to these is a early Cva hawken barrel a very generous member here helped me get my hands on which I fitted to a traditions stock, My question is should I leave the .45 cal in the original packaging for now and just enjoy the ones I have I really want to brown all hardware and do a walnut color on the stock but have never used browning before only have experience with cold blue and perma blue.

Once you open the box the resale value goes down. Do you have it to shoot or resell? That is the question!
I don’t think I would ever part ways with it I would like to build it but I wanna be able to do it right and take my time and learn how to using the browning salutation instead of blueing

I have a four screw mountain rifle stock...I've severely modified. My next trick is going to route out th cheekpiece area install a block of birch and carve it into a cheekpiece; I have no idea where the parts are...probably under my bed...maybe.

Pictures?
I’m actually on my way in to work right now and will be under ground for the next 10-12 hours or so but I will get some pics and figure out how to post them as I have never posted any before I’ll take o few of the nib kit and my USA .50’s as well as the one that just has “mountain “ rotten after the normal CVA info

The first kit I finished is a CVA Mountain rifle
