Just an FYI on that gun you are looking for, The Bobcat, Pioneer and Mountain Stalker are all parts interchangeable. Bobcat has a bit shorter barrel than Mountain Stalker and the Pioneer is the same gun as the Mountain Stalker but with a wood (beech I think) stock.

Understand.....but the Mountain Stalker has a 1:32 twist Not looking for parts, just the fast twist barrel

That I did not know about the mountain stalker. Explains why I have better luck with conicals than ball in my MS barrel.

I have a Mountain Stalker barrel on a Pioneer stock with a lock and trigger from a Bobcat. 3 pieces of junk combined to make a really good rifle.
I have a MS 54cal barrel (1:38) on a Frontier stock and I would do the same for the 50 cal.

Good shooters.

I've got 2 of them. One is stamped 1/48 twist and the other doesn't have the twist stamped on the barrel.
I only ever shot round balls or the Hornady PA conicals out of either one. They shoot pretty good.

Mountain Stalker? Mountain Rifle is 1:48

Mountain Stalker has a 26" barrel and is 1:32 in 50 cal and 1:38 in 54 cal. Mountain Rifle 28" or sometimes longer in 1:48. Frontier rifle (28") and Frontier Hunter (24") both have 1:48

@deermanok and @cynthialee Interesting! They may have made a switch later on, but were advertised as 1:32. I know the early ones were 1:32. I will keep my eye peeled for the early versions. Thanks for letting me know! I had one given to me that we used for a stuck ball test and it was 50 cal, 1:32 but the barrel was absolutely, totally, irrevocably rusted out and trashed. It made a sewer pipe look pristine.

Like I said, the other one I have isn't stamped at all, so I don't know what the twist is on that one.

I think I have a Pioneer, no markings but it is 1:32 twist and has a Monte Carlo type beech wood stock. Thinking about cutting the pistol grip part off and making it more like a Hawken style rifle then converting to a flintlock.

I have a cva bobcat stamped one in 48. I also have a cva Mackinaw 25" barrel, wood stock with a pistol grip. rifle looks nice and feels good but has a one in 25" twist. Haven't shot it much, only a couple of times for function so I don't know how it will do with prb's. Hope it will do ok out to fifty yards.

Well, now that everyone has shown me what they got.....who is willing to part with one and for how much?

Especially interested in the Mackinaw.

Top one is a Deer Hunter, below it is the Pioneer/Frontier. Both Traditions .50 cal. I have never shot these just refinished/restored. was thinking about selling them to get what I want. .50 cal flintlock, Hawken or??

I would entertain selling them both but I am not familiar with shipping/cost and payment options. I do not have PP. Never really sold anything that someone could meet and see in person.
