I don't think so based on the barrel finish as compared to other ones I've handled. But if it was a kit they did a nice job.

Brings back many memories. My first muzzleloader was a .50 CVA mountain pistol, factory finished. The stocks on factory ones were much darker than yours, which is why I asked if it was made from a kit. Nice in any case. Wish it had rammer

That is a good price and appears to be in good shape. You don't see a lot of them in .45.

Barrel is 9" and it weighs 2lbs 10oz. These actually balance really nice, nicer than the nose heavy Lyman Plains pistols in my opinion.

If it had been a .50 I would have taken it. But I don't have anything else that shoots a .440-.445 ball.

This is a nice pistol at a good price.

Now if I was selling this one....I would strip it down to bare wood, refinish it, clean up the iron, re-blue it and get the ramrod then turn around and sell it for an additional $100. Take an afternoon to do the work and a few days to let the finish cure. Increase the perceived value.
I think that light stain and lack of ramrod are keeping folks from buying it. And those are easily fixed.

FWIW I HAD ONE IN .50. MADE ALLOT OF $$ SHOOTING QUARTERS AT 25 YDS. ONLY MISSED A FEW TIMES. MOST ACCURATE PISTOL AT 25 YDS I EVER SHOT. WIERD THING THOUGH AT 30 YD IT STARTED OPENING GROUP WAY UP. SOMEBODY.... PLEASE BUY THIS. TRYING TO THIN MY OWN HERD AND CAN'T TAKE THE SILENT CALLING FROM THIS ADD MUCH LONGER. SORRY FOR YELLING...... CANTT GET OFF CAPS
